The wonder in a child’s eyes, the joy of running freely, the excitement of discovering something new — these simple moments hold the deepest meaning. At Eager Beavers Childcare, we honour these moments by creating a place where children can explore, imagine, and learn with curiosity at the heart of everything they do.
I’m Mehak, an educator, lifelong learner, and the proud founder of Eager Beavers Childcare. My journey from India to Canada, shaped by my background in science, education, and early childhood development, inspired me to build a space where learning feels natural, joyful, and meaningful.
Eager Beavers began with a simple dream — to reimagine early learning in a way that respects each child’s voice, strengths, and individuality. Guided by Alberta’s FLIGHT Framework and the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our approach celebrates children as capable, curious thinkers. We believe learning happens through play, relationships, creativity, and exploration of the world around them.
Today, our centre welcomes 59 children and is supported by a small but passionate team who share my commitment to nurturing children’s growth with care and intention. Though we are one centre, our impact is grounded in strong relationships, family connection, and a community that believes in raising children with heart, respect, and wonder.
Looking at how far we’ve come, I feel deeply proud — yet I know this is only the beginning. Our vision continues to grow, and so does our dedication to creating a learning environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired.
Nurturing Curiosity Through Inquiry-Based Learning
Eager Beavers Childcare embraces a Reggio Emilia–inspired philosophy, along with FLIGHT: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. Our approach nurtures an inquiry-based, child-centred environment where children’s natural curiosity leads the way.
Our curriculum grows organically—shaped by the questions, interests, and observations of the children. Educators listen closely, observe during play, and use these moments to design meaningful, responsive experiences. This dynamic process encourages exploration, collaboration, and deeper thinking, honouring each child’s unique ways of expressing and making meaning in the world.
Learn, Play, and Grow
At Eager Beavers, we offer tailored early learning and childcare across four developmental stages: infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarten. Each program is intentionally designed to meet the unique needs and milestones of its age group.
Infant Program: A warm, secure environment where our youngest learners begin exploring the world through relationships, sensory experiences, and gentle routines.
Toddler Program: A lively and engaging space that nurtures growing independence, curiosity, and active discovery.
Preschool Program: A more intentional learning environment where creativity, inquiry, and early problem-solving come alive through purposeful exploration.
Kindergarten Program: A comprehensive, play- and inquiry-rich curriculum that prepares children with the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed for a smooth transition into school.
